Barley Harvest 1/10
This project started in Photoshop with a rough black and white sketch. This is a very important step in developing the composition. Some main considerations are values, placement, proportions, and leading the viewer's eye to the focal point. It is good to simplify and group the values, as in the dark foreground, the medium midground, and the light sky. The vanishing point and many of the objects were intentionally placed to lead the viewer's eye to the village. When I am happy with the image, and it still looks good when reduced to a small size, it is time to add color.
